  5. If  you  spend   long   hours  working
  6. or playing at your  computer,  you may
  7. experience  certain  discomforts  that
  8. are unnecessary. By simple adjustments
  9. of  your position/posture, these  dis-
  10. comforts can be reduced or eliminated.

  12. Sitting  is  one  of  the most stress-
  13. ful activities for your neck and lower
  14. back.  Sit  with your feet flat on the
  15. floor. Adjust your chair so  that your
  16. knees are slightly higher than hips.
  17. Sit  firmly  against  the back of your
  18. chair  with your lower back supported.
  19. If you have lower back problems, ask a
  20. chiropractor  about  a  lumbar support
  21. seat and car cushion.  Correct posture
  22. prevents tension and fatigue.

  28. Many people are needlessly suf-
  29. fering  from  incorrect monitor
  30. position. The monitor should be
  31. as low as possible, even reces-
  32. sed into  the desk, not high up
  33. in the air.  Try  setting  your
  34. monitor next to  your  computer
  35. rather  than  on top of it. The
  36. monitor  should  be directly in
  37. front of
  38. you, not
  39. to one
  40. side.
